On Saturday I took a course in how to hand print my film photos. I have been wanting to do it for so long now, and it did not disappoint. It is a much harder and fiddlier process than I imagined, but it so rewarding. I thought I would share my final prints on here, from the first contact sheets (this very green one underneath) to the final two prints (above). I can't wait to go back and do some more! I am not sure what I will do with the prints other than share them with you on here, but I feel like the whole process will inform the way I take photos too, and hopefully just be an all around improvement. I think having a final print in mind will make me even more thoughtful about what I am shooting, which is something I am trying to really work on. Hence a little less content on here recently, I am trying to step back a little and create something that feels fresh to me.

I also loved having a day learning something new. I don't feel like I get to do that very often anymore, and I really really miss learning new skills. Especially one like this which I know will take such a long time to master. I am not much of a perfectionist and I think this will teach me to be more precious about my work (I have always worked in a really chaotic way).

Any of you who are London based and interested in doing the course, I did it is Chan's Photographic.
