WHO BOUGHT A KNIT IN A HEATWAVE?!
Me, it was me. There is a rationale here, I promise. It goes the same way all my sartorial cravings go; “I have wanted this for agessss and then it was in the sale so I HAD to have it even though it’s 38 degrees today”. And that was how it went, I saw this on the Net-A-Porter sale and clicked it home faster than you can say or pronounce most of the brands on that website. I have been wearing it where I can, sweating my way around London in the name of fashion and convincing myself if I pair it with linen, it will be totally bearable (it wasn’t). But I do have confidence in this purchase, that while I may have to shelve it for the immediate future, it will be a different story come Autumn and Winter and this will be one of the focal pieces in my wardrobe. Those big sleeves, the soft cashmere blend, and the dangerously bright cream shade - it’s all just so good. Typical Toteme, in making something so basic just seem so much more than that.
I paired it with my Asceno linen shorts that were firm holiday favourites and continue to be firm London heatwave favourites. My Arket sandals that are so comfortable I can walk in day in them, and have put that to the test of couple of times already. I loved the outfit, my core body temperature did not, but I can’t wait to style this knit with less contradictory items when the temperature drops below 20 degrees.
